A PERSON who had been left frustrated over lapses in care at their wife’s HSE-run house had their viewing time reduced as he raised issues to staff that is senior.
Patrick Fitzgerald, whoever spouse Anne is a resident in Cherry Orchard Hospital in Dublin, is permitted to see her for four hours per week after questioning the conventional of care directed at her.
Their experience will feature in a new rte investigates report in to the HSE’s ‘Your Service Your Say’ feedback programme set to broadcast today on Prime Time.
The insurance policy encourages patients and their loved ones and friends comment or whine into the HSE in regards to the care directed at them.
But inspite of the nationwide Healthcare Charter, which encourages the insurance policy, stating that the feedback of clients, their carers and families things, the documentary purports to demonstrate a reality that is different.
The research features stories from Cherry Orchard Hospital in Dublin, St Patrick’s Hospital in Waterford and Cappahard Lodge Nursing Residence in Ennis, Co Clare, using the five situation studies having much in common.
A residence in the Sycamore Unit in Cherry Orchard Hospital in Fitzgerald’s case, he was initially pleased to find his wife Anne.
Anne was living here for nine years, after she sustained a life-changing mind injury whenever she slipped on ice while placing down a container.
But, Fitzgerald quickly begun to notice just just just what he felt had been lapses into the quality of solution supplied to her, and felt he should make their findings recognized to senior staff.
